Mientjie walks the extra mile for her (and VBKOM’s) clients, and she gets utter satisfaction by being able to empower clients through her work delivery. As a registered Project Management Professional, Mientjie takes complete ownership of every project and ensures timeous and correct delivery every time.
Outside of the work environment, Mientjie is quite well-traveled, both for business and leisure. She has braved the harsh colds of Canada, to the sweltering heat of the African continent.
She and her husband, Bernard, have two beautiful children together. As a family, they enjoy exploring South Africa’s neighbouring countries and bring home lasting memories from their trips. When she is not traveling, Mientjie is very passionate about gardening, and she uses this passion to unwind after a long week.
Equally so, Mientjie has a great passion for music and is determined to learn how to play the violin.
Tshepiso Napo, Senior Metallurgist, was born and raised in the East Rand. As a young girl, she dreamt of becoming many things, even an Author or Journalist, but she had always had a love for the Sciences, with a particular passion for Chemistry.
Tshepiso enrolled for a Chemical Engineering Bachelor of Science degree at the University of the Witwatersrand. She furthered her studies at the University of Johannesburg, and obtained a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management, and she completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Labour Law.
She entered Metallurgy during her bursary years at a mine that offered Chemical Engineers the opportunity to become Metallurgists. She shares, “My favourite thing about my career is that there are always opportunities for growth and to learn new things as advancements are made in technology and in the development of new systems.” She further shares that it is extremely satisfying for her to see more women be included in the mining industry.
Tshepiso had a dream of traveling abroad before the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Since the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, she is determined to travel to at least five different countries within the next 10 years.
