The annual Golf Day hosted by the University of Pretoria Department of Mining Engineering (DOME) and in association with the Mining Alumni Society (MASUP) is a well-attended key event for the VBKOM team.

VBKOM entered four four-balls which saw a mix of VBKOM employees and VBKOM clients come together. MASUP invited VBKOM to make use of Wet Hole 3. To warm the players up for the challenging dogleg left, VBKOM invited each player to tee off a marshmallow in an effort to see who could drive the fluffy piece of candy the furthest.
VBKOM sponsored three prizes for the three furthest shots; the first prize was Bluetooth wireless ear pods, the second was a 2008 Pinotage in a wine cooler sleeve, and the third prize was a VBKOM branded leather keyring. The distances were astonishing, with some driving the pieces of marshmallow between 35 and 40 meters from the designated tee-off spot.
