Duan Campbell, an ex-VBKOM employee who is now a consulting mine planner at Rosh Pinah Mine in Namibia, was challenged with some technical complexities in the Medium and Long term scheduling of Rosh Pinah’s ore.

Duan did not hesitate to engage his former colleagues (now his services providers and trainers!) for a specialist tailored master class in XPAC mine scheduling.

Ben Bruwer, one of VBKOM’s in-house XPAC Principals, obliged and provided an intensive 1-on-1, 5-day training program focussing on the following content:

• Revision of Geological Data Importing and Block Modelling
• Scripting & Manipulation of data
• XPAC Calendar & mining specific frameworks
• Spatial representation & graphical plots
• Ore scheduling and in Rosh Pinah’s case, Block Cave scheduling
• XCM (XPAC Command Modules)
• Various plots & outputs (Period Progress-, Main data- and Mine Status Plots), and
• Introduction to Advanced Destination Scheduling (‘ADS’)
